I’m positive I couldn’t live a low-carb lifestyle without heavy whipping cream! Making my own Homemade Whipped Cream is healthier since I can use Organic heavy whipping cream, and it’s much less expensive AND has fewer carbs than buying the spray whipped cream at the store.
Homemade Whipped Cream is super easy to make on your own and there are actually several different options for making it!
Heavy Cream
Heavy cream is generally a staple for those on a keto or low-carb diet. It’s high in fat and low in carbs, which makes it a perfect addition.
My preference is always to buy local grass-fed raw heavy cream, but when that’s not available, I will use the organic heavy cream from our grocery store.
Additions
The recipe below is a basic sugar-free whipped cream recipe, but you can add all kinds of things to jazz it up!
– Ground cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice
– Cocoa powder
– A small amount of instant coffee
– Sugar-free maple syrup
– Lemon zest
– Essential oils! You can add 1 drop of Cinnamon, Peppermint, Lemon, Orange, or any other Young Living Vitality essential oil you think might taste good with whipped cream. IF you try one and it turns out well, leave a comment and let us know!
Sugar Substitutes
The sugar substitutes that I use most often on a low-carb/KETO diet are Monk fruit, Stevia, and the Trim Healthy Mama Gentle Sweet (which is a mix of stevia, erythritol, and xylitol). If you use any sugar substitute with xylitol, make sure to keep it away from pets as xylitol is very toxic for them.
For 2 cups of heavy whipping cream, you could use any of the following sugar free options:
– 1-2 Tbsp powdered Lankanto Monk Fruit Sweetener (you can also use the granulated if you don’t mind the texture)
– 1/2 Tbsp THM Super Sweet Blend
– 1-2 Tbsp THM Gentle Sweet Blend
– 2-3 doonks (those small little spoons that come with Stevia) of powdered Stevia Extract
You will find a WIDE variation on the amount of sweetener in whipped cream recipes, so just play with it to see what level of sweetness you prefer. I would recommend starting out with less sweetener and going from there.

Description
Homemade Whipped Cream! You can mix this recipe with a stand mixer or a hand mixer following the directions below, or you can add all the ingredients to an empty whipping cream spray can with N2O, shake, and spray!
Ingredients
1 pint Organic Heavy Whipping Cream
1–2 Tbsp. Lakanto Powdered Monk Fruit (or one of the other options above)
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract (Homemade Vanilla Extract)
Instructions
Make sure your heavy whipping cream is COLD (not frozen, but very cold). It’s also helpful if you put your bowl in the fridge or freezer for a few minutes before pouring the whipping cream in.
Pour the pint of whipping cream into the bowl and beat until frothy. Once the whipping cream is frothy, you can add the sugar and vanilla extract.
Continue beating the whipping cream until stiff peaks form.
That’s it! It’s SO easy! Just know that if you *over* beat the whipping cream, you’ll end up with super sweet homemade butter. 😉
Notes
If you use the Whipped Cream dispenser, it’s even easier! Just put all the ingredients into the dispenser, shake a few times, and spray!
