Which Avon product do you like best for dry skin? I’m loving the coconut oil, though, and since we already have it on hand I don’t have to buy anything new!

I am guessing that Lori sells Avon….I see a shameless plug there!

Lori is right!! Avon’s Moisture Therapy Intensive or Wintersoft are the best.

What are the ingredients in Avon’s products? Besides costing a lot more, too many companies still use mineral oil (because it is so cheap), and mineral oil steals Vitamins E, A, D, and K, from your bloodstream. Also be aware that some companies still use mineral oil but have found different names for it to try and fool the public. I don’t know that Avon does, but many do, so always check the label.

I use 100% Shea butter from L’Occitane for my feet and Argan oil for my face and neck.

I mix coconut oil & my lotion half and half and use not only on my face, but on elbows, knees and feet. It works wonders for this lady firefighter for 25 years – some of the guys even use it ( I keep it in a small tub) after a cold day fire and cracked skin.
My question is do you still use it? I read in that post that you’re in Texas, and I’m also wondering if you use or used it in the hot Texas summers, and is it effective? I’m on the Texas gulf coast, and I’m just not quite certain it’s going to hold up in the 105+ degree heat and humidity. I guess I have this newbie vision of it running down my arms or something (disclaimer: I know everybody is different and the best thing to do is go out there and try, but I would like feedback first about what works and what doesn’t).
Thank you!

It works great Andrea, and no it does not run down your arm. You will probably have to keep it in the refrigerator in the summer, being in Texas with the heat. I have also found that it controls the odor better, even if I’m camping and can’t shower for a few days.
avon is better
@Lori – To each his own!
Thanks Rachel!

Rachel (and others that might be able to point me in the correct direction)-
I’m new to coconut oil. So new, in fact, I’m researching where and what brand to purchase because I have never purchased any before.
I have two main questions:
1. Does anybody have feedback on Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil vs. Nutiva?
2. I read your blog post about making and using your own coconut oil deodorant (if nobody knows what I’m talking about you can read that post here https://www.survivingthestores.com/homemade-coconut-oil-deodorant.html) from May of 2010.
