Carolina BBQ Sauce

- 1 C distilled vinegar
- ¼ C ketchup
- ¼ C apple juice
- 1 tsp hot sauce
- 3 Tbs light brown sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp crushed red pepper
- 1 tsp black pepper
- Whisk together all ingredients and allow them to sit for a minimum of 3 hours
- Sauce can be basted over meat while cooking, served on the side as a dipping sauce, or both
