Buffalo Wing Sauce

Ingredients
  • 2 C dry cayenne peppers
  • ½ C water
  • ⅓ C chopped onion
  • 1 clove chopped garlic
  • ⅓ C chopped tomato
  • 1 C white vinegar
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 bottle hot sauce
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • 1 tsp honey
  • ¼ C ketchup
Instructions
  1. Roast peppers in a pan on medium high heat, stirring frequently
  2. Add water until peppers are covered, bring to boil for 10 minutes
  3. Drain peppers and place in blender
  4. Add ½ C water, ½ C vinegar and salt
  5. Blend on high speed
  6. Melt butter over medium heat
  7. Add onion, garlic, tomato and hot sauce
  8. Cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally
  9. Add mixture to peppers in blender and blend on high for approximately 2 minutes
  10. Add lemon juice, honey and ketchup to blender and blend just enough to combine evenly
  11. Pour mixture back into pan and simmer for 20 minutes
