I am kicking myself for not signing up for Upromise sooner! I signed up last week and I am starting to realize just how much I could have been saving for my children’s college education!
What is Upromise? Upromise is a way to save money for college without really doing anything! Yeah, REALLY! You can save money for your kids, grandkids, nieces or nephews, YOURSELF, kids you might have in the future, grandkids you might have in the future, and the list goes on. You can save for pretty much anyone!
When you sign up for Upromise, you register your grocery cards and/or your credit cards (if you don’t feel comfortable with giving out your credit card info online, you can just register your grocery cards) to start earning a percentage of certain purchases you already make. This is why I am kicking myself! I could have easily been putting money towards college with all of my trips to CVS, Kroger, Brookshires, and Tom Thumb! (FYI: You can tell if a website is secure if it has “https” in the address line instead of just “http”)
What other ways can you earn money with Upromise?
1) At the beginning of each month you can add eCoupons to your Upromise account. When you buy those certain items, instead of the coupon being deducted off your purchase, it is added to your Upromise account.
2) Do you make any online purchases? Instead of going straight to the online site, go to your Upromise account first and click the link to the store you want to shop at to earn a percentage of your purchase!
3) Do you ever eat out? Check Upromise first to see what restaurants in your area will give you a percentage back!
4) Get your gas at Exxon/Mobile because they give a percentage back to you on each gallon of gas you purchase.
5) Buy your magazines through Upromise! Click on the magazines.com link (a great place to buy magazines at a discount) and you will get a good percentage added to your Upromise account for each magazine you purchase.
6) Book your travel through the Upromise website. Click on the expedia.com link to earn a percentage when when you travel!
7) Get your parents/grandparents/aunts/uncles to sign up too! They can add their cards and have their earnings transferred to you or your children (or anyone they want it to go to).
Want to make a quick $5 to start off your Upromise account? First, SIGN UP! Second, register your credit cards and/or your shopping cards. Third, add the eCoupons to your account. THEN, go get a super quick auto quote from Liberty Mutual. Click the Auto tab on the left menu bar and scroll all the way down and click the button for Liberty Mutual. After you request a quote, you will get $5 added to you account! AND, you might be able to save some $$ on your car insurance too.
I’m so glad I have signed up for Upromise and I know my kids will be one day too!
