Postage Stamp Price Increase
If you’re low on your supply of stamps you may want to grab a couple rolls in the next few days as the post office has announced that the price of the “Forever” stamp will go up from 46¢ to 49¢ per stamp this Sunday, January 26 (remember when stamps were 25¢??).
There are some places you can purchases stamps online for the 46¢ price such as Office Depot. Make sure to choose free store pick-cup so you don’t have to pay shipping costs. You can also buy them from the post office online but there is an additional charge for home delivery.
The Post Office also announced that First Class International Global Forever Stamps will go up to $1.15 from $1.10. That’s still not too bad considering you’re sending something across the world for a little over a dollar!
And here’s a little American history trivia for you: do you know who the first Postmaster General of the United States was? (without Googling it?) Hint: he was also the first “President” of Pennsylvania. Oh, and he happened to be crazy enough to put a key on a kite and fly it during a lightning storm.
That last one gave it away, didn’t it? 😉
