There really are no words to describe the devastation and destruction that the people of Japan have experienced this past week.

I know so many of us want to help in whatever way we can, but how? How can just one person make a difference?

Three ways:

:: PRAY :: The people of Japan and the surrounding affected countries desperately need our prayers. They need God to move on their behalf in miraculous ways! They need His provision, His peace, His hope, His intervention.

:: GIVE :: Did you know that without disaster relief donations, even a prosperous country like Japan will have a very hard time raising the money needed to help their own people and nation? (Click on the link to learn why).

Even just $5 or $10 really does HELP!! Just $5 can bring food and clean water to a family whose home was demolished and washed away.

It can be tough to wade through all of the donation organizations that come out of the woodworks when things like this happen. There are lots of scam companies out there and I know that we all want our money to go to organizations that will really use it where it’s needed.

Here are a few that I recommend:

The American Red Cross: You can make a donation online, or you can simply text REDCROSS to 90999 and instantly donate $10 to the Japanese relief efforts.

The Salvation Army: You can donate online here as well or text JAPAN or QUAKE to 80888 and make an instant donation.

Heart to Heart International: Only 2% of all donations are kept to cover overhead.  That means 98% of what you send to them will actually make it to the quake ravaged areas.

Samaritan’s Purse: The President of this organization is Franklin Graham.  They are a Christian relief organization that also brings the message of hope through Jesus, so if you would like to go this route, then this is a reputable organization to donate through.

Are my comments showing up?

My favorite album of theirs is Pinkerton.

I also like the band Weezer.

And here is yet another comment for Japan.

In fact, here's another one.

I'm happy to keep commenting if you're still donating.

Or if you've already donated the full amount.

Please let me know if you're still donating or not.

We have already sent in our donation for the Japan relief effort. Thank you though for commenting!

Here's one more comment for Japan.

Even though I usually can't make out their lyrics.

I've only heard the British version.

Another of their's is Nightswimming.

Drive is a great song by REM.

I'll keep commenting until there are 500 comments.

I'll leave at least five comments per day.

I really hope you are still donating.

Okay, here's another comment for Japan.

I'll be back tomorrow or sooner.

I'll try to do at least five a day.

Here is one more comment for Japan.

I'll be on here everyday until the comments reach 500.

I hope you are still donating because I will comment as much as I can.

I am a Christian. I go to Saint John Catholic Church on Sundays. We try to help Japan victims of the earthquake, tsunami, nuclear reactor meltdown by collecting money to send there to feed the hungry and provide clothes and shelter for the homeless. Come to Roman Catholic Church on Sundays and learn about Jesus Christ from the Holy Bible. Perhaps we can help you in someway…

God bless the land of the rising sun.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Japanese and all affected by this tragedy.

thanx for making a difference. I hope it will help somehow.

Thoughts and prayers are with the Japanese in their time of need. I admire their enduring spirit and cannot imagine what it would be like if this were to happen to us.

Thank you, it is wonderful of you to do this.

I pray for the victims and their families. Devastation such as this reminds how truly grateful and blessed I am with all that I have. This has been very tragic, we have friends in Japan who are thankfully alright. I can only hope that relief is swift to help those in need. Thank you for donating to such a worthy cause.

Praying for the people of Japan and especially those directly impacted by your gift. Thanks Rachel & Ryan for your generosity and for your heart for God's people.

Living Social is doing a wonderful thing by offering donations to Japan.

What a big heart you have! Thank you :)

Praying for those in Japan <3

Hoping that things can calm down soon in Japan so people can start the healing and clean-up process. May God be with Japan!!!

This is wonderful what you are doing! Thank you.

Thank you from my family and I that have relatives in Japan we are waiting to hear from.

I love your site and I'm grateful for this effort you are making for Japan.

I donated last night through Living Social, and I think it is a great thing that they, and you are doing... to help the people in Japan!

I am praying for the people of Japan.
