Since we were coming back to Dallas on a six hour car trip last night we didn’t find out about the devastation in Moore, OK, until around 6:30 or 7 in the evening. The damage the storm brought was so sudden, so vast that we could hardly believe what were reading and seeing. But sadly, the reports and the pictures that began to stream in of both wide spread destruction and the heroism of local emergency crews as well as ordinary citizens were undeniable. A disaster of unspeakable proportions had just descended on a small city in our nation, and the only question that remained was how to help.
Rachel asked on Facebook yesterday about reputable organizations in the area that were contributing to disaster relief and you guys graciously responded with several organizations/churches offering to help. Below is a list of local as well as national disaster relief organizations you can contribute to in order to help with food, clothing, and other necessities, as well as volunteer at if you are able to get to the area.
