DIY “Swiffer” Dusters Out Of Microfiber or Fleece! – {Thursday’s Frugal Tip From Pinterest!}

We JUST put in wood floors in our house. Well, not wood floors. They are actual vinyl floors that look like wood floors… and they ROCK (check out Allure at Home Depot… and no, I was not paid to talk about them 🙂 )! Ryan and I installed them ourselves over a weekend and so even though it was $1.79 per square foot, we didn’t have to pay any added installation cost on top of that!

I didn’t have a Swiffer just for my tile kitchen floor, but I definitely needed one after we installed this. But have you guys noticed how much the Swiffer refills are?!? And I swear I end up sweeping up this floor AT LEAST twice a day. That’s a lot of disposable Swiffer sheets to go through.

BUT, there’s a solution! And I found it on none other than Pinterest! REUSABLE Homemade “Swiffer” Dusters made out of Microfiber or Fleece! You just wash them after a couple of uses and they’re ready to go again.

    I actually just put a microfiber cloth on my swifter fastening it in the holes for the disposable cloths.

    Okay, this stuff (the flooring!) sounds perfect for our closet.. it’s right off the master bath. I would love to change all of the tile in our house to this, since the tile is in all of the wet areas. How did you get it for $1.79/sf? The only price I can find is $3.27/sf?
