CVS Trips

I had to change things around a little from my CVS Scenario that I had planned on doing. They were out of the Clearasil by the time I got there and I only had $8 in ECBs to roll instead of the $10 that I thought I had. So instead I got two packs of the Band-Aids (the kids were super excited!) and the cereal.

Total paid: $2.74 (it would have been 74¢ but silly me forgot my $2/1 Off! coupon. Lesson: don’t go couponing with a sinus infection! Or at least triple check everything before you leave the house!) :)

Total I would have paid without the sale/coupons: $45.02

Savings of 94%!!

I spent a little more this week than I normally do because I needed diapers, really wanted the Omega 3 Fish Oils, and I didn’t have any Register Rewards from last week to use at Walgreens this week (hubby used them to buy sunglasses last week!) :)

To view the coupon matchups you can go HERE (Walgreens) and HERE (CVS).

At CVS (everything on the left side of the table) I started off with $10 in ECBs and I have $8 left for next week.

I did four transactions at CVS and spent a total of $2.99 out of pocket! Without the sale/coupons it would have cost me $80.12 (I didn’t count the Contour meter in this total b/c I wouldn’t have gotten it otherwise).

At Walgreens (everything on the right side) I started off with $0 Register Rewards and I ended with $8 Register Rewards (which I used to buy the diapers).

I did seven transactions and spent $13.16 out of pocket. Without the sale/coupons it would have cost me $81.29.

So, I spent a grand total of $16.15 out of pocket for $161.41 worth of stuff!! That’s a savings of 90%!

We will end up using everything except the Skippy, Glucose Meter, Bayer Quick Release, and the Roots of Nature products (all of these will be donated.)

I really didn’t expect to get everything that I wanted to get at CVS, but I DID! I’m really shocked that they weren’t out of the Roc and the Zooth Toothbrushes!

Here’s what I did (starting out with $20 in ECBs):

Transaction #1:

6 3M Metal Hooks – $2.50 each
2 Zooth Toothbrushes – $1.99 each
2 Gold Emblem Almonds – 99¢ each
1 pack of Huggies Training Pants – $11.99 (not pictured)
2 Insect Repellent Wrist Bands (anyone know if these actually work?)
————————-
Total before coupons/ECBs: $36.93

- $5/$25 CVS coupon
- 6 $2.50/1 3M coupons
- B1G1 Zooth coupon
- $2/1 Huggies coupon
- $2 off any Gold Emblem nuts
- $10 in ECBs from last week
—————————
$1.76 out of pocket after coupons and ECBs

Got back $7 in ECBs ($5 for 3M, $2 for Zooth toothbrushes)

Transaction #2:

5 Roc Cleansers – $3.99 each
2 Roc Cleansers – $5.99 each
————————
Total before coupons and ECBs: $31.93

- $4/$20 Beauty product coupon (printed out at the price scanner machine)
- 7 $3/1 Roc coupons
- $6.93 ECBs from transaction #1 (they adjusted the $2 one down to $1.93)
————————–
$0 out of pocket after coupons and ECBs

Got back $10 in ECBs from the Roc deal (and it looks to be at least Limit 2 instead of Limit 1)

Transaction #3:

Pampers Diapers – $11.99
———————
Total: $11.99

- $1/1 Pampers coupon
- $10 in ECBs from last week
———————
$1.07 out of pocket after coupon and ECBs

And I still have the $10 in ECBs that I got from Transaction #2 to use next week!!

So how much would all of this have cost? $80.85

How much did I pay out of pocket? $2.83

That’s a savings of 96%!!

To view the coupon matchups for this week’s ad, click HERE.

There’s nothing real exciting this week at CVS. If you are just beginning, I would recommend the following scenario:

Buy Crest Pro-Health Enamel Care @ $3.49
Buy four cans of Campbells Soup @ 2/99¢
- $1/2 Campbells printable coupon
- Crest Pro-Health coupon from the 3/1 P&G

Pay $2.49 out of pocket

Get back $3.49 in ECBs to use next week (when the deals will hopefully be better!)

I went to CVS (make that three of them) yesterday to try and find the Ultimate Cherry Maalox that was clearanced, but they were out. When I scanned my CVS card I got a CVS coupon for $1 off any CVS brand lotion item. The dry skin lotion in the picture above was clearanced to $1.37, so with the coupon it was only 37¢…. AND it printed out $1 ECB! Yay! :)

I had to go to get diapers tonight (we had ONE diaper left) and so I decided to get a few of the other items on sale. I had to get a raincheck for the Schick Quattro (why do I think I need another razor??) but everything else I wanted to get was in stock.

If you are new to CVSing, make sure to read CVS 101 before continuing.

Here’s what I did:

Transaction 1:

Pampers Cruisers (my 1 year old leaks in every diaper except these) – $9.99
Bayer Contour Blood Glucose Monitor – $14.99 (normally $80)
————————————————–
Total before coupons and ECBs: $24.98

- $5/$25 CVS coupon (I’m just realizing that this shouldn’t have gone through… I guess he pushed it through anyway because it was so close to $25)
- $19.98 coupon for the Bayer Contour Meter from the 10/26 RP (I argued with him that he took off too much, but he kept saying that he took off the right amount, so I just let it go)

82¢ TOTAL OOP (Out Of Pocket) after coupons and ECBs

And I made $5.00 in ECBs from the Monitor

Transaction 2:

Pampers Cruisers – $9.99
2 Colgate Total Advantage toothpastes – $2.99 each
2 Nature’s Bounty vitamin C with Rose Hips (a must have for flu season!) – $9.69 for two (they are B1G1 Free)
———————————————–
Total before coupons and ECBs: $25.66

- $5/$25 CVS coupon (make sure to scan your CVS card in the price scanner everytime you go to CVS… that’s where I get these $/$$ coupons!)
- $1/1 Pampers coupon from the 12/28 P&G insert
- 2 $1.50/1 printable Colgate coupons
- $1/1 CVS Colgate coupon (printed out a few weeks ago from the price scanner)
- 2 $2/1 Nature’s Bounty printable coupons
- $5.00 ECBs from previous weeks/transactions
- $5.99 ECBs from previous weeks/transactions

67¢ TOTAL OOP after coupons and ECBs

And I made $7 ECBs from the Vitamins and the Toothpaste

Transaction 3:

2 Pantene Shampoos – $3.50 each
2 Pantene Conditioners – $3.50 each
2 South Beach Cereal Bar 5 ct. packages – $2.50 each
4 cans Bumble Bee Tuna – 88¢ each
Earrinse solution (I had a raincheck from… two weeks ago?) – $9.99
———————————————–
Total before coupons and ECBs: $32.51

- $5/$25 CVS coupon
- 2 $3/2 Pantene coupons from the 12/28 P&G insert
- 2 $2/1 South Beach Cereal Bar Printable coupons
- $1/2 South Beach CVS coupon from the Diabetes Book by the pharmacy section (this coupon along with the other two printable coupons lets you get two of these FREE – Thanks, Stephanie!)
- $10 in ECBs
- $4 in ECBs
- $2.51 in ECBs

And I got back $4 ECBs for the Pantene.

GRAND TOTAL FOR THE TRIP: $1.49 OOP!!!
