
Do you have regular baking days? Today is a baking day for me and I am baking up a storm!!
Having periodic baking days can be a BIG help in saving money. Having meals already made in the freezer really helps me not be tempted to suggest going out to eat on days when I just don’t feel like cooking dinner.

I’ll be posting a picture at the end of the day today to show my progress. Hopefully I will be able to do a little more baking tomorrow too.
Here’s what I have cooked up so far this morning:
Cinnamon Applesauce in the Crockpot
Apple Cranberry Muffins
4 Loaves of Homemade Bread
Homemade Chicken & Dumplings
This afternoon I’ll be making the following:
Sauteed ground turkey & onions (to use for ziti tomorrow)
Vegetable Beef Soup (except I’m using stew meat instead of ground)
Homemade Crackers
Banana Bread
If I am able to go to the store tonight to grab a few things, then tomorrow I’ll be making several more items to put in the freezer:
Easy Baked Ziti
Chicken Tetrazini (x2)
Italian Homemade Meatballs (baked instead of fried)
Ground Beef & Onions (to use in future recipes)
Cinnamon Raisin Granola
2 loaves Homemade Bread
Cornbread
Pumpkin Spice Buttermilk Scones
Homemade Whole Wheat Tortillas (with coconut oil instead of canola)
Crockpot Beans

The best I do is grated cheese, cooked ground beef, and cooked chicken but that alone saves me many times. Like tonight, start to finish lasagna was 1 hour.

I also buy ground beef in bulk, cook it up and freeze in 1 lb. batches. Chili is then done in no time as is spaghetti or Hamburger Helper. I also have a recipe for “Almost Stuffed Peppers” that my family loves if anyone is interested. You cook up ground beef, add tomatoes, sliced green peppers, onions and rice…20 minutes (if your meat is already browned) to a yummy one pot meal!

I love to bake but haven’t thought of actually baking in advance then storing them in the freezer. I will try this on my next baking day
